G. E. Meehan and his wife, Diane, owners of the America’s Original Lavender Estate, Bonny Doon Farm in the Santa Cruz mountains of California, only make a few colognes. Yet, each is naturally produced and inspired from another age.
It is their small-batch, authentically crafted Meehan Bay Rhum that is a classic for men and a must-try for fans of the fragrance. Inspired by the sea and his love of J-Class yachts, it’s a sublime example of the legendary island scent.
Like any natural producer, Meehan has the zeal for ingredients, starting with the namesake base itself. “Cane spirits are the purest, most costly basis for Bay Rum cologne products,” he explains. “Many other producers of Bay Rum colognes use neutral grain spirits for an aromatic base. It’s cheaper to use but to me it’s lifeless and cold.” On the contrary, his Bay Rhum Splash Cologne is bright and inviting, hand-blended in small batches and aged in the estate’s cellar.
From the Bay Rhum Splash to the Spirits of Lavender to a single-note Sandalwood to the 12 pure oils in the Uplands Cologne each are made with the finest ingredients. Thank you!
